Coming from a stage artist’s family, my own sculptor’s career started in the early nineties. A 9-year formative stay in Pietrasanta, Italy, was completed by my studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara and the diploma in sculpture in 2001.
Since then, I have been based in the south of Munich, Mallorca and Italy.
During my training, the art of ancient and contemporary sculptors as well as classical sculpting techniques had a strong influence on me.
Each piece of my work is handmade, characterized by small, barely visible irregularities and asymmetries that bring life to a smooth surface or a sharp line. A large portion of my sculptures are made of marble or bronze.
The creation process from the idea to a finished sculpture goes through successive work phases, in which materials such as clay, plaster, and wax are worked on.In this process, the themes I am dealing with are reflected.
One of these is the connection of opposites, another is the cycle of tension, pause, and resolution.
Everything goes through this cycle, at all times – my sculptures show a moment in this process.
In the tension between duality and unity, they reflect the polarity of human existence and encourage reflection on the complexity of life.
